Shooting Astro Panoramas with Syrp

This was a tutorial I made with SYRP motion control a few years back.

It covers every aspect of Astro Panoramas from planning, cameras settings, shooting, stitching, and post-processing!

We used a robot head from SYRP to automate the panorama shooting process, but this can be easily done with just a regular tripod head and a little patience. Just try to have your photos overlapping by about 50% - you don’t need to be particularly accurate. In ptGUI skip the “align-to-grid” step, and just hit “Align Images” from the homepage.

I’ve found ptGUI to be far-and-away the best program for stitching these panoramas together. Lightroom, and Photoshop just wont cut it on images this big.
