The Milky Way will be stretching over a stunning view of the Waiheke and Chamberlins Island before swinging over our heads with the galactic core rising over the Coromandel. Duder Regional park has a number of beautiful locations to shoot at the whole night through.

We'll be teaching camera settings and post-processing with your own photos! You'll learn to use Lightroom, Photoshop, PTgui and 3D LUT Creator to create truly astonishing images.

What you need to bring:

  1. A Camera (any modern digital camera with a detachable lens)

  2. A Tripod (essential for night photography)

  3. The Widest Lens You Have (ideally 24mm or less and with an aperture of 3.5 or lower. If you don't own one you can rent one from somewhere like Topic Rentals)

  4. A Torch (bring a red light if you have one, like a bicycle light. Red light helps you change your camera setting without blinding you or your neighbors)

  5. Warm Clothes (It can be surprisingly windy and cold!)

  6. A Cable Release or Remote (to allow your camera to take photos longer than 30 seconds)

  7. A Thermos of Your favorite hot drink

  8. Water and a snack

  9. Did we mention to bring a Torch? (super important)
